The title of this piece refers to the building energy, increasing complexity, and expanding orchestration throughout.

A sparse, free beginning with birdsong-like soprano lines give way to an underlying 7/8 ostinato. This opening material is superimposed over increasingly complex cross-rhythms.

The piece ends with the soloist demonstrating a number of patterns & flourishes that increase in tension & technical demand.
