Urban Species
A 7 movement, 60 minute suite for S/A/T/B Saxophone Soloist, Piano & track.
The saxophone part throughout is half composed, half improvised, across 7 different soundworlds/styles.
An exploration of human interactions within a city - both with each other and with the landscape that surrounds them.
Over half the world’s population now live in cities.
We are an Urban Species.
Part vi - Unveiling
The end of the working week sees many completely divorce the work ethic they have been prioritising all week, giving in to more human desires of interaction - to socialise, drink, dance…this unveiling of true character can be an intriguing insight into the apparent necessity to ‘wear a mask’ in the work environment.
